“I am invited to contribute a print for At least thirteen ways of looking at a blackbird for permanent exhibition at the Seamus Heaney Centre at Queen’s University, Belfast. Each artist is asked to interpret the 9th century verse The Blackbird of Belfast Lough given in its original Irish and its English translation.
It appears that my work is not well received by the curator, and when the show tours it is excluded. There may be at least thirteen ways of looking at a blackbird, but mine isn’t one of them.”
