“Lunar eclipse
Caught by an impulse I find myself attempting to photograph a lunar eclipse with a small camera from the front door of my house. The results are hopeless, but the effort that these six photos record is somehow poignant. They form part of the artwork for David’s Moonless and crowblack, a collection of six tracks remade from the Fluorescent 3 EP. Made as live analogue treatments and spontaneuos compositions using the Simmons drum synthesizer, David refers to these as futile attempts, acknowledging failure as an inherent part of the process. On the cover a hexagon, the iconic shape of Simmons drums, is tilted 15º clockwise, recalling the hand-drawn box”
